Description
Baroque brass monstrance, 24-karat gold plated. The wide, multilayered glory consists of rays and a grapevine wreath. The grapevine wreath features silver-plated medallions of the Apostles. There is an image of God the Father at the top of the glory and the Lamb of God at the bottom. Gold-rimmed luna case is surrounded by a wreath of wheat. An angel figure is placed on each side of the luna case. Highly ornamented base depicts scenes from the life of Christ: the Last Supper, Prayer in Gethsemane and the Way of the Cross. The richness of the design conveys classic, dignified character of the monstrance.
